Causal Theories of Action and Change

چکیده
For many commonsense reasoning tasks associated with action domains, only a relatively simple kind of causal knowledge (previously studied by Geener and Lin) is required. We deene a mathematically simple language for expressing knowledge of this kind and describe a general approach to formalizing action domains in it. The language can be used to express ram-iication and qualiication constraints, explicit deeni-tions, concurrency, nondeterminism, and dynamic domains in which things change by themselves.

Compiling Causality into Action Theories
This paper is concerned with the problem of representing the eeects of actions. We argue that the traditional minimal change principle is problematic to represent ramiications of actions that are related to the causality of the domain. To handle this problem properly, it is necessary to describe the causal relations of the domain explicitly and compile the domain causality into action theories....
متن کاملA Unifying Semantics for Causal Reasoning about Action
One of the principal concerns in the research area of Reasoning about Action and Change is determining the ramifications of actions in changing environments. A particular tendency emerging in recent literature endorses the explicit incorporation of causal knowledge in logic-based action theories. It is argued that causal extensions not only enhance the expressive power of theories of action, bu...
متن کاملSpecifying Causality in Action Theories: A Default Logic Approach
Recent research on reasoning about action has shown that the traditional logic form of domain constraints is problematic to represent ramiications of actions that are related to causality of domains. To handle this problem properly, as proposed by some researchers, it is necessary to describe causal relations of domains explicitly in action theories. In this paper, we address this problem from ...

Change in sexuality is one of the important subjects that caused for founding new jurisprudence and legal subjects. Among these subjects, we can refer to permit or non permit for doing this and its further relevant jurisprudence and legal effects. In the present article, we want to considered these two subjects and clear that if such an action made on a person who have physical disorder in geni...
متن کاملOn Relating Causal Theories to Other Formalisms
This paper explores mathematical relationships between the \causal theories" formalism recently introduced by the authors and several other (well-known) formalisms. More specii-cally, it relates causal theories to default logic and autoepistemic logic, and describes translations back and forth between causal theories and classical propositional logic. It also relates action representations in c...
